How to use this product

You can use this pregnancy test 4 days before your missed period, but for the most accurate results, use the day after your period is due. It’s recommended to use this test with your first urine of the day as it will be the most concentrated. To start, remove the pregnancy test from the foil and use it within 1 hour. Holding the thumb grip, remove the cap but do not dispose of it.

There are two different ways you can use this pregnancy test. The first is to urinate into a clean, dry, glass container and dip only the absorbent tip into the urine for at least 10 seconds. Alternatively, you can expose the absorbent tip into your urine stream for at least 10 seconds until it’s thoroughly wet. Do not allow any urine to come into contact with the results window.

After 10 seconds, remove the test from your urine and immediately place the cap over the absorbent tip. Lay the test on a flat surface with the results window facing upwards. Set a timer for 3 minutes. As the test begins to work, you should see a reddish-purple line form in the results window, indicating that the test is working as it should. You must read the results within 10 minutes and disregard any results after this time.

Reading the test result is simple. You are probably pregnant if 2 distinct coloured lines appear in the results window. They don’t have to match, for example, one may be lighter than the other. If only 1 coloured line appears in the results window, you are probably not pregnant. If no coloured lines appear and the testing window is blank, this means that the test has not worked.

How does a pregnancy test work?

Pregnancy tests work by detecting a hormone in your urine known as chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) that your body only creates when you’re pregnant. If HCG is detected, the test will show a positive result; if HCG isn’t detected, the test will show a negative result. This hormone is released when a fertilised egg attaches itself onto the lining of your uterus, marking the beginning of pregnancy.

How to increase your chances of conceiving

If you’re trying for a baby, there are things you can do that can increase your chances of conceiving. You should aim to have sex around the time that you’re ovulating (about 12-16 days before your period starts, but you can take an ovulation test for a more accurate reading) or every 2-3 days. Try to maintain a healthy weight, stop smoking, reduce your alcohol intake and take a folic acid supplement each day.
