Warnings and Precautions:

  • Avoid Use with Certain Medications: Do not take escitalopram if you are concurrently using pimozide or citalopram (Celexa).
  • MAO Inhibitors: Refrain from using escitalopram within 14 days before or after taking an MAO inhibitor (such as isocarboxazid, linezolid, methylene blue injection, phenelzine, rasagiline, selegiline, or tranylcypromine).
  • Suicidal Thoughts: Some individuals, especially young people, may experience suicidal thoughts when initiating antidepressant treatment. Monitor mood changes and report any new or worsening symptoms promptly.
